Finally, I got a stable VPN to help me get out of China's GFW More video coming soon!!
After over 2 months works, finally I can share you some images of my 6dof simulator #2! #1 was finished last year and posted at x-sim.de here is the url FYI and thanks for all your guys comments and help.
The #2 is heavier, more stable, detachable, support multiple controller with curve screen, support Oculus Rift! And it's works great!
Here is some images of the platform, more images and videos coming soon
Nice work! You and I have very similar seat and monitor mounting, but mine is made from 15 series 80/20 T-Slot and my seat is not on a slider (+ joystick and throttle mounts). It's the configuration I had when it was just sitting on the ground.
I've been looking around for an LG 34UM95-P for a while, but they're sold out or back-ordered all over Canada. With CAD vs USD there's a 30% currency premium to get it from the USA. Are you in HK?
I'm using an old Imac as a 1440P monitor now, and it seems to be the perfect resolution for that close to your face. How do you like the curve on Dell U3415W?
Curve screen is perfect for movies, but for gaming I can just say it is not worth for the price. The first 6dof simulator I made using 3 Dell U2414H, triple screen, wide enough, but not tall enough. That's why I'm trying a 34" 21:9 screen, and works great, I mean the size.
Still if you want a bigger screen, 34" 21:9 is a good choice, but not the curve on, just get a normal one.
I'm in Beijing by the way, this Dell 3415 is coming from a friend works for Dell with very good price. I will not buy it with the list price, just not worth. The 34UM95-P in Beijing is 6199 RMB which is about 1270 CAD. Also you can looking for other brand like PHILIPS and AOC they both have 34" 21:9 screens.
Looks great. I'm also in China and thinking about building something similar for myself but for Oculus Rift only. How is your experience with it for sims? And what is your total budget except computer, display?
If using a very slow speed to rotate the motor in Fabi's software. heave for example when doing the PID auto tuning progress. All 6 motors are not running at the very same time, 3 of them will begin to rotating a bit earlier than others, like 1/3/5 are rotate at the same time and after 0.2~0.3 second 2/4/6 begins to rotate. I don't know why but I think it is not right...
Good Morning I'm busy with my project at the moment .Do you have measurements for the frame ( This is for the motors , seat and brackets ). I'm planning to do a steel base with lockable roller wheels to move it if I have to. Maybe build in sections to disassemble and reassemble at a different place. Thank You

fimmy: How's the firmware going?
Sept 6, 2017 8:34:43 GMT
tronicgr: @fimmy I had to put it on hold to finalize the manufacturing of the new kickstarter controllers. I tested parts of it to ensure compliance with the new features and looks good so far. I'll get back to it soon for integration.
