hello all
Jumping in to the 6DOF abyss! Have 6 real torquey 3 phase BLDC motors (550 in/lb) 24v wheel chair motors. Don't quite have enough torque for direct drive (except with 2" to 3" levers). Probably will require 5 to 10 reduction gear. Ordered a Chinese BLDC drive and 40A power supply. Wife is already starting to look at me funny! Thanks to thanos for responding. I know you are very busy.

BI directional or uni-directional? Thanks

The dir input is 5v. The Thanos board puts out a 24 v DIR out put. Thinking a simple resistor divider network of a 19k + a 5k should emit 5v DIR to the drive. Speed input is 0-5v analog. Gonna play with this on the bench to observe behavior.

The 6DOF ext board outputs are available as 0-5V analog speed and 5v digital for direction as well. See this picture that has the voltages marked on the pins: www.dropbox.com/s/i1445jcqemx7tow/6DOFEXTV3_PCB_test_points.gif?dl=0The pin rows between the 595 and 2981 chips are the same outputs but 5volts. No need for additional conversion or resistor dividers. Thanks Thanos

Got my gear boxes in. They're 5:1 worm drive 2-1/2 hp. Got them new, but since only RT hand, I'll have to switch 3 of them to Left hand drive. Only 1 output shaft, so planning to put a fine tooth gear on the output close to the case for feedback. Got 12 coming. Machine shop to bore them for fit on output shafts. All 6 BLDC drives and PWR supplies are in. I hope 2500 in/ lbs of torque is enough or gonna have to shorten up levers from the proposed 6" of throw

Yup. Wish I could score the $100 off special, but the wife would probably kill me!

Yup. Wish I could score the $100 off special, but the wife would probably kill me! Well, the offer is valid until the end of 2014... now you know what to ask for Christmas I should leave this in the shoutbox, not that I wish to have more orders right now (have to fulfill about 15 so far since Cyber Monday... ) Thanks Thanos
