Dear all friends
Firstly, I want to introduce my self. My Name Irvin from Indonesia. I found this forum from Thanos after I was looking for a motion simulator. I need a motion simulator to sharpen my skill as a racing driver in Indonesia. I'm not a technician, nor a software programmer or an IT person. My knowledge about IT (hardware and software) and Technic very limited. So, I really need your help to complete my project.
A view weeks ago, I sent an email to Thanos and asking for buying a motion simulator. He told me that he did not produce and sell motion simulator but he can build a motion platform. Shortly, I decided to buy his motion platform although I did not know where I have to begin my project. Then I learned from this forum, I saw Stevant project (very incredible), billo2404, fabi and some other project.
My first plan is to build a motion structure with aluminium and I will using Fabi's and Stevant's dimensions. While I'm waiting Thanos' platform, I'm googling for motor, worm gearbox and inverter. I have no problem with buying inverter because Thanos gave me a link for online shopping. But, I have a little difficulties when I want to buy motors and worm gearboxes, because automationdirect.com could not ship their products to Indonesia. So, I am googling again to find an identically motor and worm gearbox. Finally, I found www.omega.com who have an identically worm gearbox and AC motor just like Ironhorse. And the important thing, they have a branch in Singapore (near Indonesia). Before I decided to checkout my order, I asked Thanos about the motor: OMAT34-18-56CB (http://sea.omega.com/sg/pptst/OMAT_Series.html) and the gearbox: HDRF-262-60/1-DE-56C (http://sea.omega.com/sg/pptst/HDR.html). Thanos said the motor was fine, but he asked me a larger reduction gearbox, 90/1 for example. Because of the geometry of the platform. Do anyone could help me with the gearbox? I have a bit difficulties to to find a 90:1 with can integrated with the motor.
I'm very welcome for everyone who can help and suggest me with my project. I really want to say thank you for Thanos, who very patience to answer my question. I know he is very busy with his job and work. And I want to say thank you for all of you guys in this forum because I learned so much about the motion simulator. I will post and upload my project after I finish my sketch of platform dimension.
Best regards
Irvin
