I've tried the 2.4 with the same result. I will double heck Concerning the 14bit sensors why not contact directly the manufacturer?? I remember they were ready to help when I've ordered them for you over a year ago PM me the manufacturer contact if you can. Not sure who to ask. Thanks Thanos I've sent on ur mail the whole conversation with the german aplication engineer I had back than when we were choosing the product. It seems it is produced in India. You can ask both, the germans and the indians, I am sure there is somebody who can respond competently all your questions. cheers

I didn't tried yet the 12 bit output of the new "red" controller. As it will be difficult for me to switch back and forth between the old and the new board (different cabling) I want to report/solve issues with the old "green" controller first, in order to make a better investigation from where the problem could come. I had a correct behavour with the green card up to the firmware 2.1c. As I described, after loading the v2.3, v2,4, the motor nr.1 in my 6dof is starting to rotate without any reason while the others are stuck. Our setups are very different. I am using servomotors without inverters and a different mode from a different contrller so its hard to say if our issue is a common problem. Also it's maybe better to stick to our bad international english, so everybody can understand us better and help us better. cheers

I had a problem that could look like on the engine 1. after updating 2.1 to 2.3,the engine 1 gave accents, movements of jerks. by putting an earlier version, I kept this problem, I supposed a card failure. by going to Simtools the problem has almost disappeared. I had Xsim before.

what software do you use? Xsim? Simtools? BFF? I posted videos of this problem. I think there is still a software problem. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QehJC9NZ21o&feature=youtu.bein this post: motionsim.freeforums.net/thread/252/firmware-2-2017-controller-support?page=3everything worked perfectly in 2.1, I just made an update of the green AMC, then, as soon as I pressed start in Xsim, the simulator was jerking on the engine 1. the return to the v2.1 did not change anything, did not settle anything, I concerved the problem .... I went to Simtools, I did not know what to do .... after having everything checked, tested, exchanged engines, drivers .... the problem comes from the AMC or the app or a bug. today it works with Simtools, but from time to time it seems to give short movements randomly. For the new AMC red 2.4v , there is a bug with the 12-bit analog out, with potentiometers I hope that Thanos will be able to advance on this problem, I expect a lot from him, I have also done a lot of tests without result, my 2 new AMC do not work.

I am using x-sim with 6dof kinematic plugin. I have no experience with USO setups. Cannot say if your parameters are properly set there. 1.) You have to get a smooth response first without any software. - check your PID. Set the P as low as possible for the moment. (the value will depend on your set up). You will increase this after. Are your motors moving smoothly when you tourn the position sensor by hand? Start with P at 0 and increase until you get nice smooth arm movement while moving your sensor by hand. Detach the sensor if needed and do this test. When sucessful, move on: 2.) As I said, I have no experience with USO. did you added USO axis in the math setup? Is the 6dof plugin present in the plugin interface folder? If yes make also a test without. In x-sim Math Setup, for the telemetry raw data, did you applied the filtering (math plugins like smoothing, resising, rescaling bla bla bla)? If not, set proper parameters using at least the math g-force plugin, acording to how you want to deal with your axis and forces here: You can also use Math "Mean value filter" plugin to make the movements smoother. At the beginning, don't run any game from the "extractor", run there "Slider test panel" than go back to the "converter" and try to get the movement you want by performing tests with "calibration offset" slider in the converter's "math setup" section. cheers

I already did all that .... (of course I know all that, I had a perfectly functional simulator, on the one hand I changed the soft on the green amc and it is set to jerk. Now with the red card nothing works in 12 bits.)
no solution, I think the card is in question or the software of the AMC
and it works with the green AMC, and it does not work anymore with the new only the AMC changes. same motor, same setting, same frequency variator
the settings have no influence. the motor speed is at max, no change with the potentiometer.
this problem is in 12 bits.
Thanos has to confirm to me that the new AMC works well in 12 bits output with potentiometers.
it is written in the characteristics of this new AMC

riton 39, Did you tried, like Thanos has suggested to load back the 2.1 to your old controller at the lower speeds (19kbps)?
Question to Thanos: Make it sense to load the 2.1 firmware to the 2017 controller or there is a minimal version required for the new controller?
Question to everybody: Could somebody report the functional simulator behavior with the new controller (v2017) and report the last functioning firmware?
Thanks in advance
Cheers

no. it seems to me that it does not work if you do not put 25000Question to Thanos: Make it sense to load the 2.1 firmware to the 2017 controller or there is a minimal version required for the new controller? Question to everybody: Could somebody report the functional simulator behavior with the new controller (v2017) and report the last functioning firmware? I have the impression that I am the only one to have tested the new red card ...
Thanks in advance Cheers

Hi Thanos, I have some trouble while cabling the new controller. That was my previous setup: I've updated the v 2017 to the firmware version 2.4 rev3 and cabled as following: Nothing moves for the moment. What I did wrong?? Should the connection of Input B-, Input A-, and Enable- go to the s3 pin, as well as Enable+ next to the s3 like on the photo? Thanx in advance for assistance cheers

what are jumpers S1, s2 for? and what do you connect to the wires S1, s2 ....
without any indication of Thanos, we will burn everything ...

Ok, I recabled like folowing. it seems to work: Thanos, could you plz confirm if it's correct? Later I will report bugs... cheers

Yes, this is correct now. But no need for jumper on S4, the Jumper on S4 will keep the LCD updating instead of showing message that the motors are active. Check if the S3 outputs 5v as it should connect to the Enable signal of the clearpath. The only change from before is where you connect the pwm signal.
I tested the latest firmware on Simtools that i had already installed on one of my pc and it works great if you enable the "motion only" parameter in the lcd menu. I'm changing the activation way of the commands over serial in next firmware (double sequence) to avoid random activation if "motion only" parameter is not active.
I'll have more time today to setup x-sim and test the new 6dof dll.
Thanks Thanos

I would like to know where we are going with this new AMC. you did not answer my last mails. Thanos, you are very busy, but you would save time to make a wiring diagram of the AMC with the 6DOF card and the connections, as well as the position of the switches on the electronic card.
there are switches, jumpers solder .... suddenly the doubt settles on these points without information.
I would like an answer on the cabling of this AMC with: 12 bits output with potentiometers / 10 bits in /
I did a lot of testing and nothing works. give me / us information.
Vulbas is also unable to operate its AMC, mine are also waiting for information, nothing works.
Thank you
