Thanks Thanos.......not sure where to make those changes. Maybe you can help me to get. Assetto Corso working on x-sim? Very strange how it opens the game yet when you hit the start button it tells you to open through the extractor which I did....... ? Hey Steven, I don't have the Assetto Corsa, my laptop cannot handle anymore any of the modern simulation games. I had the same issue sometimes with rFactor that kept saying to open the game from extractor, not sure how I fixed that, but I did. Why not using Ian's software for the Assetto Corsa? He has support for it, that is perhaps way better than x-sim at this point: bffsimulation.com/Manual-6DOF/BFF_Motion_Driver_AssettoCorsa_V320b1.zipAnd instructions how to setup the plugin: bffsimulation.com/Manual-6DOF/Assetto_Corsa.phpThanks Thanos

Hi Thanos,
I did try it. I just wanted to compare it to x-sim. I truly like Ian's software the best. Just wanted to compare. He did get back to me about what changes I need to make to the F1 file to run Dirt3. I will do tonight and make a video as when I did use it, it was amazing "ride".
Great job as always by Ian.
Hope all is well with you. Thanks for your help and advice.
Sincerely,
Steven

I'm trying to get Dirt3 up and running using the F1 software as suggested it might work but I'm getting an error. Here it is: Sendto failed error 10038: An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket. The game worked once but then the same error returned. Any ideas?............it was a great ride while it lasted!!!!!! You can see from Ian's response a few messages above that this is a known issue with Dirt3... Maybe here you can find some more info about it: www.x-sim.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=97Check my last post on www.x-sim.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=97With that Dirt3 is running for me without any crash.

I know this one!
Riton wrote: with DIRT 3 I use " Live4speed" plugin and this configuration: <motion enabled="true" ip="127.0.0.1" port="4123" delay="1" extradata="0" it works, maybe it will work for you too for Dirt Showdown

Hi Riton ,
Fabi doesn't use the L4speed plugin because he find it not so better than the plugin for Dirt3. The problem with dirt3 comes from the last release 1.2.He reinstalled the 1.1 patch because with this release the real dirt3 plugin works.
I'm agree with Fabi I tested dirt3 and the L4Speed plugin is really poor for effects and for a 6dof.

you know my opinions, with a ramp , no good effects. for me it is imposible. watching my videos.
the world's best plugin will not add to that ramp effects 0.5 deletes.
Again look at the difference in video, I made them for it That said there may be a difference why not ... I find the effects very good with LiveforSpeed plugin, watching my videos. it could be even better. it is difficult to test the version 1.1 with DIRT 3 plugin home ...
Fabi, advises friends, you have to get off the acceleration and deceleration ramps low. over the ramp is high over the result removes effects.
DIRT3 Live4Speed plugin. test with 0.5 ramp and after test with 0.0
if it's too violent for you down the speed then, but do not remove the effects to the source with the ramp.
set high speed perfectly the simulator, the PID, optimize speed and responsiveness. increase the range of effect, and end eventually decrease the speed on the of Thanos card if it's too violent. but not otherwise.
bad simulator adjustment removes the effects.

Salut Riton ,
Hi Riton ,
Your answer is out of the subject I'm talking to.I don't speak about to,setup, ramp up or ramp down and what is the best setup.
I just say that the originally plugin for Dirt3 is better than the Live for Speed Plugin. And i'm very disapointed that since the last dirt3 release 1.2 we have no other choice that to use the life for speed plugin .This plugin is really poor because there are not so many effect than the dirt3 plugin ! I'm not talking about the effect 26 which is obiouvsly the same between L4Speed and dirt3 plugin.

I do not know what you want as effects?
I understand that the effects were bad, I just wanted to make a reality, with a significant ramp it will never be good.
Now everyone does come it worth, I do not think off topic when discussing quality movement.
there Yaw and pich and roll in LFS.
the effect 26 is an example, one could use the other ... you can take effect 26 or 28 ... the result is the same a high ramp will eat 50% of the effects.
Now the DIRT 3 plugin is probably, maybe, better ... but the fact is that even if it is better, the result if the simulator is set incorrectly will be bad.
my video is an example of the result between the same effect and different ramp settings.
everyone does what he wants.
you can open the discution and share our expereinces.

My opinion is that, how reactive, violent or slow or accurate the motion of the 6DOF platform should be, is up to the user that builds it. Thats I allow so many changes of parameters so each one can make it fit his needs. I try to satisfy all. I don't want to to limit the possibilities to a certain configuration,as much that would simplify my work.
I cannot tell people what is wrong or right, but only advice to the ideal 6DOF so they can follow it to the extent of their resources.
Thanks Thanos

it's true. I show my videos to show what he can do. to see the differences between 2 or 3 different settings ... I take a position, because I've tried a lot of situations and settings, as well as simulator. Taking taste has felt much more thing on the simulator! I pointed the way
everyone does as he pleases, of course. it's interesting to see what else do with their equipment.

Hi all I have a problem with my system. If i use aceleration ramps on the inverters as 0.1, the inverters turn off. It looks like a over voltage on the motors and the VFD turn off to prevent damage on the motors. I saw guys using 0,5cv motors, 1:60 gearboxes with lots of aceleration on their systems. Can someone explain what is wrong with mine? My a/c engines are 0,75Cv, 1cv VFD, 1:60 gear reduction, maybe a brake resistor? 6dof Leandro Tercette with Thanos boardRegards Hey hexapoder , please use your project thread for questions related to your project. To your question, you can decrease the acceleration ramp of the motors if you install Braking Resistors (one braking resistor per VFD inverter). Usually you need 300Watt braking resistors, but you may consult the VFD inverter manual to see what they recommend for the model you have. Thanks Thanos
