which type of switch is more suitable for amc1280 kill switch : momentary or maintained/toggle switch? Are the usual mushroom emergency button a momentary type of switch for eg: linkMushroom Switch that locks is better (the kind that you rotate the head to unlock). Thanks Thanos

That switch you linked to is similar to what I use. Mine has both NO and NC and locks when you press it. Twist to unlock. 'Mode' electronics makes mine.

'Mode' electronics makes mine. so this type actually locks itself on button press then unlock to deactivate it. I was scared the arrow meant it need to be twisted to unlock before pressing it. Thanks

It does not look like it, but does the AMC1280USB support limit switches for endstops?

yep you can include them. im installing my pots on the opposite side of the dual shaft as a temp measure until i have dialled in then will move the mounting to the lever arm side to keep everything inside the base to prevent snagging the pots and keep things tidy. the mount will need limit switches to do this though or a pot failure will make a real mess. i have these to use.

Thanks, that now makes sense from the posts I've read, I'm not using the extension board - DC motors...

You can use the same concept with the limit switches placing them between the DIR outputs on the PWM headers and the DIR inputs on the HBridge or the DC motor controller. That is if your motor controller has 2 DIR inputs. If it has only 1 DIR inputs it might need some other tricky hook up involving the outputs and some blocking diodes.
Thanks Thanos

Thanos, my encoder works very badly. I can not navigate the menu of the AMC. Can you give me a reference I can not find an equivalent, at Conrad for example? Thank you

Hi ! I have just bought a cool 6DOF platform. It has 6 Linak DC actuators, 3 Sabertooth 2x32 each with a Kangaroo x2 motion Controller, and the AMC1280USB Controller with the addon board. The AMC1280USB Controller has never been used on this rig, it has only been hooked up to a g-27`s potmeters (what a shame) I am not an educated Electronics guy but I`m good at folowing descriptions, so who can help me hook this up :-)

In x-sim, in the interface plugin setup, What does the max dep. and cross sens. limits control ? what does the design points mean ?

"the max dep. and cross sens. limits" - nobody could understood this concept until now... ignore. "the design points" are the x/y coordinates of the joints for the upper platform and center of the servos.
cheers
