Hi all,
I'm following the video Thanos made in regard to setting up x-sim to recognize the board but when I go into interface settings and select Thanos 6DOF it will not recognize the board......what am I doing wrong???
Thanks,
Stevant

Well I did not get much sleep last night as I have uninstalled and reinstalled x-sim several times but to my disappointment, the interface settings is still not recognizing my Thanos 6DOF plugin. My drivers are installed, my computer is recognizing the AMC1280USB, but when I try to run x-sim, it will not interface with the board. I must be doing something wrong and would appreciate any feed back. I just want to test my "baby" platform before I hook it all up to my big one. If I can't get the "baby" platform to work then what good is the big one....
Here are a few pics of how I'm hooked up and what I am seeing.

I changed my Com3 to Com2 thinking that it had to match the port shown above but it still does not recognize the Thanos 6DOF when I go into interface settings.

I tested all the boards I have here and I didn't see any connectivity issues. Could be just that one gone bad? I'm sending you a new one on the mail today.
Thanks Thanos

Hi Steven, I repaired the board you send me back... I was preparing some more boards and I decided to investigate your board as well. The RX pin on the chip was soldered together with the next pin... removed the excess solder and now its working fine! I had to use my microscope to see that tiny short! Its amazing it did update of the firmware though!! Thanks Thanos

Wow........I knew I would have not figured that one out. Great Job. At least we know we were not crazy. My new one is working fine. In fact I just updated to the new firmware so when we calibrate it will be ready to go.
Thanks again for all your help,
Steve

Apparently, that tiny short was ok for the communications to work in 19kbps that is running the firmware update, but making it unstable for 250Kbps communications under normal conditions. I guess I'll have to make the effort and checking all communications next time. Thanos

It never hurts........:-) My new HEIM joints came in. I installed them, just waiting for my upper platform. Hopefully in the next couple of days.
I'll keep you posted.

Try in another USB port first, it might be some other issue.
Also disconnect everything from the amc1280usb board before trying the upgrade.
Can you make a short video of the procedure you are following to to the firmware upgrade to see if I can spot the issue?
If you still have issues, email me and I'll arrange to send you a replacement.
Thanks Thanos
