Thanks again paulg100 I didn't see in the BFF manual where it showed numbering. I did invert in the "M" tab, as my platform is front/rear opposite the numbering Thanos gave me, but this is apparently off by 90 degrees, numbering just seems wrong for BFF. I will have to check all those things on the PID and get back to you.

its on page 1 bffsimulation.com/Manual-6DOF/Introduction.phpre the PID if you have a good understanding of what P I & D are doing (theres some good you tube videos that make it easier to understand) then you can have a good stab at doing it manually and with a bit of trial and error.

That's a different version of the manual than I had! Got it. That does match up with the image from Thanos.. so what the heck! Why are my motions from BFF all wrong? I'm so confused. I'll make a video demonstrating and post it.

Here is the video demonstrating what is happening. Be sure to watch it in HD fullscreen so you can see everything clearly.

Ok so turns out the DOF manual override wasn't working because the sim was paused, but the rest of my problems are still an issue.

Don't know if it will help, but I'm running Assetto Corsa with basically the same actuator layout as yours - no issues at all - I'm guessing you have setup the configuration files as required to match your rig? FI also could not get Fabi's auto setup to work so just did it manually with the help of the oscilloscope window.

might help if you post your config file,
yes if the dimensions in the config file are substantially different from your sim then that will likely cause issues.

Just had a closer look at your video, your actuator numbering is different to mine? My setup (like your setup) has the front reversed, but unlike yours number one actuator is at the rear of my rig like in the manual - you just need to reverse the actuator direction as you have done in the configuration file not reverse the numbering.

Are you using a game to test this at the minute?
set up a bff config for joystick support only (direct joystick movement) so that it cuts out any issues with game behaviour, that will be easier to isolate the issue

Thanks Paul, It looks like the problem was I set "rig type" in BFF to 5, 6DOF with handed actuators. Problem is that what this does is reverse one actuator in each pair... but that's already being done by the AMC card! Result was half the actuators going the opposite direction!
That did the trick, cues are correct now!
Ok time to learn a bit about PID and try to get those settings reasonable then go for a ride!

Ok working on tuning now! Still need help with PID, but for now focusing on adjusting cues. Roll feels great, so far I don't get much cueing for acceleration and deceleration so that's my main focus right now.
Anyone willing to watch what I'm doing live and give advice please let me know!

Still working on tuning, anyone know in BFF advanced pitch how I can increase the total pitch used to cue acceleration?

I have come to the conclusion that I just wasted an entire day! After 12 hours of testing and tuning my cues are still 100% awful!
I'm going to need someone to walk me through this. Any takers? I can broadcast my view and the motion sim movement on Twitch live while you talk to me via Voice or text, just tell me when and I'll make it happen!
I'm dying for some killer motion sim flight! Trying to fumble my way through was a failure so I need HELP!
=)
Trip
PS- I can tell at least by the roll feedback in flight this is going to be awesome!

Sorry i havnt spent any real amount of time tuning yet (no point tuning with the electrical issue i have) so cant help Im sure what you will find though is that the settings for flight and racing will be completely different. if it makes you feel any better, you think 12 hours is bad, try several months hopefully ive saved you at least some of the head scratching i went though.
