Quick update...I have been traveling for business and haven't had much time lately. I did get my Oculus in and have it setup. Having a issue with my G27 (pinched a wire). Hope to get a new video out this weekend

Great, hopefully we can put heads together on the PID tuning, I'm still working hard to crack that nut at the moment.

Hi Paul,
What motion software are you testing with? I still using BFF. I tried x-sim but I experienced a lot of lag. Here is a video I made over the weekend
I have not done much with the PID (20,0,0). I am still working on the ramp speed. I am at .10 on accl. Still getting VFD errors every once in a while.
Cheers, GA Dawg

Hi GA the sim looks great!! ive been using bff and also playing around with simtools some, simtools and no limits rollercoaster with VR is a blast. If need any help with setting it up let me know. Its not a replacement for BFF (until sim tools 2 at least) as it has no porper math model but has some other games that bff dosent and still works pretty well. this thread has some of the main settings: www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/preset-for-thanos-amc1-6-controller.5040/and with these axis presets will get things going pretty much out of the box: www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/6dof-preset.5800/HOWEVER thanks to your new video im now convinced there is some problem with my system. After also looking at others videos no one seems to have the issue i currently have and have had since the beginning. ive been killing my self over the past week with the PID tuning but im sure now this is not the cause as everyone elses sims seem to be working pretty well even with basic PID settings. im hoping to get some vids over the weekend and hopefully you guys here can give me some ideas as after many many many hours of trawling the net and trying everything i can think of im about out.., its starting to get a bit depressing!

One question GA, what do you have A013 and B082 set to on VFD? If I cap starting volts and frequency to A013:1 and B082: 0.1 then I can pretty much tame the jitter issue I have but I think it was making the motion notchy... although might be another setting affecting that. Is your "run" light on VFD lit or flicking on/off even when the motors are at home? or is it completely off.? EDIT: i see you been busy updating your build thread ill look through that to see if i can find anything that might help. One thing i dont see is settings for the USB com port for AMC I had my baud speed set at 480000 i think it was and i found a vid from thanos earlier with it at 9600, maybe this is my issue, will test later. BTW you have done an awesome job with this build thread Thanks

Hi Paul, I have tried to update the post as best as I possibly can and I still need to go back and make corrections in the "Tuning" and "Motion Software Setup". The last video I posted looks good but I am still tuning. I have been working with Dirt Rally and the Oculus. If you don't have Dirt Rally I would highly suggest you get it. With regards to the VFD the ONLY things I have that are different for the default setting are in the Tuning section. I am still getting errors from time to time on my Accl and I am currently at .15 not sure what I can do to decrease that but I am looking into it (any ideas?). One thing that I have noticed is I had to dramatically decrease pitch, roll and sway in BFF. Having them much higher really make things fell out of sync. Having them this low is a bit of a bummer when driving a rally car and I will see if xsimulator can handle the motion any better. I have also finally had time to pay with the PID and this is where currently at. I can say that I haven't noticed much of a difference but I am still testing. One thing I have noticed is with (I) in play there is some voltage going to the motors when there at home (VFD flickering). I all most forgot. I am running my USB port at 250000 (250kbps) Cheers GA Dawg

Thanks for the info GA. "I am still getting errors from time to time on my Accl and I am currently at .15 not sure what I can do to decrease that but I am looking into it (any ideas?)." In the limited time ive used my platform I havnt had any acl/dcl errors, that's with acl 0.08 and dcl 0.02, but really I havnt used it enough to say for sure due to the jitter problem I need to solve. One thing though I have 1.1kw motors and a larger gearbox, which from my rough calculations gives me about 1/3 more torque than the 0.75kw motors and associated gearbox (in the brand I have). This will obviously help. Yes I have dirt rally, pretty awesome in VR, one day maybe I can play it with motion!! sigh! "Having them much higher really make things fell out of sync. Having them this low is a bit of a bummer when driving a rally car and I will see if xsimulator can handle the motion any better." I'm assuming this is just down to speed. have you tried upping P to say 30? and tuning the PID properly is maybe the key. after testing USB port that wasnt the problem, makes no difference. Ill continue this in another thread to save clogging yours up. Incase you havnt experimented with a013 and b082 see here for latest post about b082 response effect: motionsim.freeforums.net/thread/128/hitachi-wj200-current-errors-autotune?page=3&scrollTo=3171

Hi Paul,
I got no limits 2 and xsimulator running today BUT I nearly broke my rig (over shooting). Could you share your config? My guess is its the motor speed on the AMC. Just testing the output and xsimulator looks like it moves much quicker than BFF.
Thanks, GA Dawg

HI GA
Sorry for delay, things are kinda in pieces at the minute as I'm trying to fault find my problem and take some videos.
Just to confirm you mean simtools?
Ill post some things to check/set later today, thanks.

OK first axis assingments Not the yellow icons at the side, this is where you set washout, smoothing etc. NOTE: In no limits YAW and maybe ROLL snap to reverse side once past 180 so need allot of wash out or smoothing, id just turn YAW off. Its a problem with the plug in that needs fixing. and then you can limit axis here, I was conservative to start with and worked up

Also VERY important, once you have axis setup and limits, you need to run tuning centre when you configure a new game to set min/max limits so it runs properly. Start game then start tuning centre (tray icon and right click game engine to open it). Press reset, start coaster then press capture max/min, let the coaster complete a run then save the settings. That will set the rest for you. You can also cap use range under game manager and profile editor. Hope that helps

Just noticed in the above images you can see I have DOF 1 and DOF 4 empty for no limits. These would normally be 1: Roll 4:Yaw.
Thanks to Vulbas for sharing these settings.

Success...I also used it with Dirt...Much better response....However I did have more collision problems (need to really limit access while testing). I have out of town guest so I don't have much time to work on it right now will post more as soon as I have time but I think I am just about done with the setup.
Thanks again,
GA Dawg

Quick update....I am going to switch to 1HP motors (I will update the build). I just don't think I can get the Accl ramp speed any lower with the current setup.
