Hey guys. Night before last I updated to the new Firmware (which has an exciting fix in it, thanks Thanos!) and afterward started having a problem with actuator #1. Might be coincidence, but the timing indicates it's probably related since I was doing the same tests in SimTools the night before updating firmware and this was not happening.
So what happens is after a minute or two of motion (moving sliders in SimTools manually or playing a game) actuator 1 goes bonkers. It starts making huge oscillations or even going in full circles (no limiters here)! Interestingly it does not stop when I exit SimTools, it keeps doing it until I hit the reset button on the AMC.
I will test tonight real quick with BFF to see if I have the same issues.
Currently I'm using the new firmware, but don't know how to set up the new FF/FF settings in SimTools interface options so I'm running the AMC in "old" 41/42 mode.
Thanks for any help.
Trip

Ok just tested with Ian's BFF and same problem. I went to manual mode and started moving sliders and after a few big movements actuator 1 just started spinning in circles and kept at it even after exiting BFF. I don't really want to roll back to the old firmware, I'm so excited for the "kicking" fix! Can anyone tell me how to adjust these settings (screenshot) to use the new "FF FF" output mode in the new firmware? Maybe that will fix the bug I seem to have and make it so I can fly again! More or less a shot in the dark I tried changing "AB" to "FF" but it did odd things and actuator 1 still seemed to have it's own ideas of what to do.

Hi Trip,
Loaded the new FW 3.0 and the new plugin from hexpod for xsim3 and will have some problem also . Contacted Thanos trough hexpod and Thanos got this information also. For me one motor seems to turn continuously and after I didn't achieve to move the sim.Thanos is being on investigations , hope he will, soon fix it !
Greetings

Thanks for the reply. Always makes me feel a lot better to know it's not something on my end.
Did you try without heXpod plugin? To see if you have similar issue? I am having one motor turn continuously or oscillate wildly after a bit of proper movement and I don't have heXpod plugin hooked up yet. I'm currently using "old" AB 41/42 output directly to standard SimTools and BFF.
I guess it sounds like going to FF interface to SimTools won't fix this either, suppose the only thing to do is roll back firmware or I'm stuck unable to use my sim at all until the firmware bug is fixed. =(
Also, Vic, do you not know how I adjust those SimTools settings in my screenshot for using the new FF output?

Thanks Vic, good enough! I missed that you said X-sim instead of SimTools, I forgot heXpod is available for both.

Installed new firmware today, still getting the same problem though maybe (or maybe just luck) it's not happening as much.

Updated to Rev1c yesterday and still actuator #1 randomly starts going in full circles after a random short period of time running. Sometimes it just oscillates instead of full circles. It keeps doing it even after exiting motion software (tested with SimTools and Ian's BFF), I have to hit the reset button on the AMC to make it stop. After doing that, it works fine for a few minutes usually then starts again with the same problem. Trip

It seems somehow (not sure yesterday or today) USO data somehow accidentally got set to 8bit. Could that be the cause? Can't test because rolled back to older firmware for some other stuff testing.

Trip, In the 2,4 rev.3, after selecting 16bit, you have an "under menu" where you should select "ser feedback off" Please do so and report if it eradicate you "kicks" Thanks

Hi Trip/Hexpod, I thought you had to select Motion Data Only instead of Serial Feedback Off? That's what I read to get BFF working with the AMC and XPlane. I get the random kick and thought it may be a torque limit. I don't get it as much or at all with a reduced load. 100 lb operator vs. 150 lb operator. Thanks so much for trying to figure this out.

it is necessary to change the curve V / F ( driver) if you are in V / F, it changes the PID much. actually the kicks look like torque losses.
