Hi friends, I did some tests more. All motors moved wired in triangle (recommended by Hitachi). It seems I have to put on the power of the VFD first on and afterwards the 24V. Next step I did, I optimized the poti positions. Then I positioned the upper and lower limit switches. After this I did the first test with the heXpod software. All motors worked fine. Then I used the BFF software in manual mode. It worked also very well. So far so good. But now only Motor 1 to 4 are moving and motor 5 and 6 did not move any longer … At the picture is the position of motor 4 and 5 ... All the settings are the same. I’ve no idea what is now wrong??? Does someone know what is to do? The next thing is I can’t set the start positon. Please have a look to the picture. Is this a mistake in Version 2.4 ref 3 of the AMC-board? Thanks for help Johann

The next thing is I can’t set the start positon. Please have a look to the picture. Is this a mistake in Version 2.3 of the AMC-board? I've also experienced strange values changes. - load the firmware 2.4 - don't use fabi's configurator cheers.

Hi hexpod,
thanks for this answer. Do you have a download link for version 2.4? Or is it better to reload version 2.1? What about the motors 5 and 6. Till now they worked. I had only problems with motor 1 and 2. For me it's really a disaster. I belive I'm so short befor using my 6 DOF simulator. But something will not work all the time.
Thanks Johann

You can try the last one. You will find more about it on the Thanos blog main page. Direct link here: motionsim.blogspot.de/2017/10/new-firmware-release-and-kickstarter.html?m=1Cheers

to Thanos, after some tests moor with firmware 2.4 ref3 there are big problems to save the start pos. It’s described before. I did the following: 1. switch main power of VFD on 2. switch 24V and 5V power for AMC board on 3. moved on AMC board to change start pos 4. change start pos – only motor 1-4 is running up and down when I turn the hand wheel at the board. The status of VFD is only changing on motor 1 to 4, 5 and 6 doesn’t move and VFD status is “frozen” see picture. What could be wrong? I checked the wiring more the 2 times everything looks fine. Do you have an idea what else can I do? Thanks for help Johann

Hi johann ,
On position 2 you said switch 24v and 5v for the amc board on. For my 6dof several years ago I remember I was using a 5v power supply for the amc board .I noticed some trouble doing this.Thanos said to me it was not being necessary to power the amc , the usb cable was enough to supply it and to transfer data. If you have this configuration just try to unplug the 5v power to keep only the usb connection ( power and data ). When i look at your problem i know it's fully boring i suppose a wiring problem , ground etc... or an amc problem .I have an amc the first edition with 2.1c FW and it works great for me.

Hi Vicpopo,
thanks for your answers. In the past I watched your videos and it looks fantastic. Oh happy man …
I tried to put out from all the user projects only all the good things and my hope was to have a good solution for my project at the end. In this case I used the 5V power supply. I don’t know what the current rating for the AMC board and the potis together is and so I can save the USB interface of the PC.
I moved to the firmware version 2.4 due to the fact that Thanos recommended it to me. I ask him to move back to 2.1 and he said no.
At the moment I’m really perplexed what the reason for all the problems is.
By the way what kind of VFD do you use? I couldn’t find it out at your user project.
If you've also WJ200 please can you say witch settings you use?
What settings you’ve for the AMC board? Especially for the PID (I’ve 15,0,0), the sensors (I’ve 10%).
Thanks for your help Johann

Hi Johann,
Thanks for your kind words !
I use sew movitracB inverter .
Just give a try using amc without the 5v power supply (only usb).
For your setup for me it’s ok !
Cheers

Hi Vicpopo, what a pity. Thanos recommended the WJ200 but no one can or will help me with the settings of this VFD. All 6 have the same values but only motor 1 to 4 are running at the moment. Well, I plugged of the 5V power supply. Then I did the following: 1. plugged in the AMC board to the PC 2. switch 24V for AMC board and VFD on 3. switch main power of VFD on 3. moved on AMC board to change start pos 4. change start pos – only motor 1-4 is running up and down when I turn the hand wheel at the board. Again motor 5 and 6 didn’t run. I checked the wiring again. All seems ok. Also the sensor voltage at the AMC board is ok. Here are all the settings of my AMC board: USO Data Format = 8-bit P=15 I=0 D=0 Motor Max Speed = 10/99 Motor Min Speed=3 Set Sensor Typ = Analog 10-bit Set Output Typ = Analog 8-bit Feetback Sensor = 10% Sensor direction = Neg135 Pos246 6DOF Startpos = 50% after save Timeout = 5 Function of KLM = 2.Kill Signals Clearpath motor = A.CLP disabled CLP Parameter = 1=1 2=1 3=1 I got my sensors directly from Thanos and I hope the Sensor Type 10-bit is the right one. But I think so because motor 1-4 are running. What AMC board settungs you use? Thanks for your help ... Regards Johann

for the settings in amc .
I setup start position at 10% ( arm level nearly down ) .I setup kill signals to " go back to start position "
With this setup I can easily climb to my sim rig and in case of problem I push a button ( kill switch ) and I go back slowly to the start position .
Did you already try to change over the inverters wiring .Try for exemple to change over the wiring between inverter 1 and 5 and check if the motor 5 works.Idem for change over 1 and 6 .
Just to try to find out where the problem is located !

USO Data Format = 8-bit =====> must be 16 bits P=15 I=0 D=0 Motor Max Speed = 10/99 Motor Min Speed=3 Set Sensor Typ = Analog 10-bit Set Output Typ = Analog 8-bit Feetback Sensor = 10% Sensor direction = Neg135 Pos246 6DOF Startpos = 50% after save Timeout = 5 Function of KLM = 2.Kill Signals Clearpath motor = A.CLP disabled CLP Parameter = 1=1 2=1 3=1

Hi Riton,
I get more and more confusing.
When I try to change USO Data Format I get the following possibilities: Ser feedback OFF Ser feedback ON Chksum err ON Chksum PrintON Motion Data only
When I save on by on the 8-bit value doesn’t change.
I believe there is a big problem with version 2.4 from Thanos
I don’t know what is really set at the moment inside the AMC board…
When I’ve finished the rewiring I’ll post my feedback.
I’m completely disappointed Johann
