Hi,
Did somebody had to deal with this issue?:
"Every time I close the Extractor I am getting twice the following error:
"data collector has stopped working"
Than when I try to reopen it, I have a voice message:
"an interface was unplugged"
Only a win8.1 reboot or changing the USB port can restore the data transmission to Thanos AMC1280USB.
Please assist - Thank you."

Yes I have quiet the same issue but not when closing extractor but when launching xsim ( problem reported to Thanos) .Maybe a conflict with usb serial ports if you have another peripheral connected with the amc .
The issue to solve this I didn't find it but now I click several times ( sometimes more than 6 or 7 times ) on "try an hardware rescan " and it always works !!
I know it's a little bit boring but until now it happens always and click on try a hardware rescan several, times always solved ... A little bit frustating but didn't find better solution.
win 7 64 bits , with the last ftdi drivers.

The second time, I had to click about 35 times to get the converter up.
very annoying

Sorry guys, I don't have win8.1 ... Still using windows7 and rarely seen this problem. And its something that has to do with X-sim software libraries which in this case, sirnoname could help. I wonder if its fixed now with windows10.
Thanks Thanos

You could maybe try to reproduce:
1 plug the amc 2 launch the Extractor with Converter and check the AMC outputs in "interface settings" 3 close the Extractor and Converter
repeat 2 and 3, the issue (Warning an interface was unplugged) should appear.
Thanks!

What I did is to uncheck all interfaces except thanos6DOF... While scanning for other interfaces it crashes the 6DOF plugin otherwise. Also you do not need to have the rescan on start enabled... If I remember correctly that how it was called... Thanks Thanos

Hi Thanos,
Yes you are right , I didn't remember to mention to uncheck all other plugin except 6dof plugin in xsim. But unfortunatly it doesn't solve completly the problem.

Just to make it clear. Software crash and "Warning, an interface was unplugged" are two different bugs.
Concerning the startup crash, In my case, the faulty plugin was "Kangaroo.dll". Deleting this file from plugin directory solved the problem.
Now, the problem I and Vicpopo have, is concerning the erratic AMC recognition on Converter startup. You have to press like a chimp for random times "try a hardware rescan" button in order to get it work.
you wrote: "Also you do not need to have the rescan on start enabled..."
I don't see this option. Could you please be more explicit?
Thanks

Hi Thanos, Yes you are right , I didn't remember to mention to uncheck all other plugin except 6dof plugin in xsim. But unfortunatly it doesn't solve completly the problem. It seems that only rolling back the ftdi driver to the version 2.8.30.0 can fix this bug.
vicpopo could you give a try?
cheers

Finally! I've found it.
It is NOT related to the driver version. It has to do with the kill switch.
The axis in the AMC are not at all, or are erratically recognized while the kill switch is On.
No problem when starting x-sim with the kill switch off.
Thanos, is this possible to correct it, and be able to start the simulator with the kill switch On?
Best regards.
